Jose has more than a decade of experience in consulting and academia. As an affiliate consultant at Gritwood Dispute Resolution S.C., he is a trusted expert in cases requiring advanced economic and mathematical analysis for litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters. Additionally, Jose serves as Vice Dean and Associate Professor at the Business School of Anahuac University in Mexico City. His research focuses on Law and Economics, Health Economics, Economic Regulation, Crime Economics, and Public Policy.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Jose's research has resulted in more than thirty peer-reviewed articles published in leading international journals such as <\/span>Social Science & Medicine<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>World Development<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Population Studies<\/span><\/i>. He has also contributed to various refereed conference proceedings, book chapters, and two forthcoming textbooks on Law and Economics and Quantitative Methods for Business. His work has garnered over 700 citations, with more than half from peer-reviewed international publications. Based on citations from the past decade, Jose ranks in the top quartile of economists worldwide according to the Research Papers in Economics (RePEc) index <\/span>.<\/span><\/i>Several of his articles rank among the most cited or have been selected as \"Editor's Choice\" in the journals where they were published. Moreover, Jose frequently contributes to media outlets on business and public policy topics, including <\/span>Forbes M\u00e9xico<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Exc\u00e9lsior<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Animal Pol\u00edtico<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>

Jose\u2019s teaching experience includes courses in strategy, financial institution regulation, corporate governance, health economics, econometrics, microeconomics, and law and economics at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He has taught at institutions such as Anahuac University, Cornell University, and Universidad Finis Terrae. He has also been invited to speak at universities in Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, the United States, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, among other countries.<\/span><\/p>

As an active consultant, Jose has been engaged in projects for the World Bank's Poverty and Equity Unit for Latin America and the Caribbean, the Sustainability Index of the Mexican Stock Exchange, Mexico\u2019s Federal Audit Office of the Chamber of Deputies, and the <\/span>Center on Budget and Policy Priorities<\/span><\/i> in Washington, D.C. He has served on the advisory boards of Anahuac University\u2019s Business School and the Latin American Consortium for Microfinance Training (COLCAMI), which provides business education to microfinance lenders targeting underserved populations such as low-income women entrepreneurs and agricultural startups. He has also contributed to BIOSODAS, a consortium of independent bottlers, and is an active member of the Inclusion and Outreach Committee of the Catholic Research Economists Discussion Organization<\/span>,<\/span><\/i>the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association<\/span>,<\/span><\/i>the American Economic Association<\/span>,<\/span><\/i>and the Academy of Management<\/span>.<\/span><\/i>).<\/span><\/p>

For his academic contributions, Jose has received several awards, including the State of Mexico's Research Talent Award in Economics and Management, Level I recognition from Mexico's National System of Researchers (SNI), the Anahuac Award for Excellence in Research and Teaching, and the Robert D. Cooter Award for Law and Economics Research.<\/span><\/p>

Jose holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in economics and mathematics from the University of Texas (RGV), a Master of Science in Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University, a Master of Arts from the Warsaw School of Economics, a Master of Laws from the University of Hamburg, and a Ph.D. in Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University. He is also completing a bachelor\u2019s degree in law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
