RE: ICC Arbitration Rules 2026
INSTITUTION: International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”)
EFFECTIVE: Entered into force: June 1, 2026
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On 22 May 2026, the ICC published the new version of its Arbitration Rules (the “2026 ICC Rules”), which entered into force on 1 June 2026 and apply, as a general rule, to arbitrations commenced on or after that date.
The 2026 ICC Rules represent the first comprehensive revision since 2012 and signal a material shift in the ICC’s approach to arbitral administration: more agile, less formalistic proceedings with a significantly stronger digital foundation.
